Real Housewives Of Potomac Wendy’s Mom Accused Of BLEACHING HER SKIN! (Before & After)

Tiffany Brockworth |

Real Housewives Of Potomac is getting GOOD. This season there’s some pretty big drama brewing between housewives Wendy and Nneka, who are both Nigerian.

But Media Take Out learned that there is another pretty interesting development in the show …. Wendy’s mother seems to be getting lighter and lighter each season.

This is Wendy’s mom, from the most recent episode of the show. She almost looks like a White woman. But she wasn’t always so fair skinned.

Here’s what mom looked like just a few years ago:

And here’s an older pic of Wendy’s mom, she wasn’t fair skinned at all:

Clearly something happened to her complexion …. and folks on social media are suggesting that Wendy’s mom may be bleaching her skin.

As Media Take Out reported, skin bleaching is seen as a “common” beauty treatment in Africa and South Asia. Lightening of one’s skin does not have quite the negative connotations that it has in the United States.

Typically, people use the drug hydroquinone as a depigmentation agent. A person can buy a 2% solution over the counter or seek a prescription for a stronger 4% solution. Results usually appear within 3–6 months after applying hydroquinone one to two times per day.

Hydroquinone has many potential adverse effects. It can increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so it is important to use sunscreen. Some other potential side effects include:

  • blue-gray skin discoloration
  • skin irritation and redness
  • burning
  • damage to the skin
  • skin dryness
  • false elevation of blood glucose on a blood glucose test that uses blood from capillaries
