Real Housewives of New Jersey star Lauren Manzo’s husband Vito Scalia has filed to divorce year, after an eight-year marriage, Media Take Out has confirmed.
Vito, 37, cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ with Lauren, 35, in divorce documents he filed in New Jersey September 5.
Vito, who owns multiple restaurants and appeared on the hit Bravo series, said in court docs that he and Lauren have been having marital problems ‘for a period of at least six months,’ which led to ‘the breakdown of their marriage.’
Vito added that it had been ‘apparent that the marriage should be dissolved,’ as ‘there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.’
The former couple are parents to daughter Marchesa, six.
Lauren, who revealed earlier this year she has lost 80 pounds, touched on the topic of her marital discord indirectly this past summer when a fan asked her on social media about where Scalia had been.
Manzo said that she was ‘allowed to keep aspects of [her] life private, especially after having a child,’
Lauren is the daughter of Caroline Manzo and best known for appearing in the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
In 2009, her mother joined the cast of the Bravo reality television series for the first season and appeared in the first five seasons. Lauren, along with her family have also been featured on the show throughout. She and her family starred in the spin-off after this which was called Manzo’d with Children.
