Mark Curry and former child actress Raquel Lee reached a confidential settlement in 2015, years before Lee accused Disney of failing to protect her from alleged sexual abuse during the filming of The Poof Point.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed the private agreement as Lee’s new lawsuit against The Walt Disney Co. draws attention to her experience making the 2001 Disney Channel movie at age 14.
Curry, then 40, played Lee’s father in the film. Celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, who has represented numerous accusers in sexual misconduct cases, represented Lee in the confidential resolution. Lee and Curry did not respond to the outlet’s requests for comment, and Allred said she had no comment.
The settlement details have not been disclosed.
Lee’s current lawsuit against Disney centers on an unidentified “middle-aged, male employee” she alleges sexually abused and assaulted her during production. The filing does not identify Curry as the accused employee.
According to the suit, the alleged abuse occurred several times, including at a Salt Lake City hotel where the cast and crew stayed and on a flight back to Los Angeles. Lee also alleges the employee made sexually explicit remarks around minors.
“No one at Disney intervened,” the complaint states.
Lee later continued working with Disney as a voice actor on The Proud Family and its revival, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. She also appeared in Quiet on Set in 2024.
