Young Thug’s father is protesting the fact that his rapper son is still locked up while former President Trump was given bond on similar RICO charges by Atlanta judges.
Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, was indicted last May on RICO conspiracy and gang charges in Atlanta. He was jailed and ordered held without bond and was moved to a Cobb County jail to separate him from other gang members.
Young Thug is accused of being a founding member of the Young Slime Life street gang which is affiliated with the notorious Bloods gang. He is considered guilty until proven innocent and his lawyer has asked for bond on multiple occasions.
Each time, an Atlanta judge has rejected his application for bond.
Former President Donald Trump, and 18 of his colleagues, are also charged with RICO in Atlanta – for allegedly trying to steal the 2020 presidential election. Trump was indicted in Atlanta on 13 RICO charges of allegedly interfering in the 2020 election. He turned himself in on Friday, Aug. 25, and was released after less than 5 minutes, on $200,000 bond with conditions.
Now Young Thug’s dad, Jeffery Lamar Williams Sr., is protesting the potential unfairness of it all. He was on IG yesterday, holding a sign that reads:
“Free YSL. Trump & Crew got a bond Young Thug & YSL face the exact same charges but no bond? Make justice fair!! We deserve a fair fight too Fani.”
