Maino revealed that he has worn a hairpiece for five years, shocking his fellow podcast hosts, Dave East, Fabolous, and Jim Jones.
The rapper shared the detail during a recent episode of Let’s Rap About It.
“I got this about five years ago,” Maino said when Dave asked when he began wearing a hair unit.
Fabolous then asked where he bought it. “Online,” Maino replied.
That answer left Jim astounded by the piece’s natural appearance. “But how does it look so natural if you got it online?” he asked.
Maino quickly realized his friends were digging for more details. “See, y’all trying to trick me up,” he said with a laugh. “Listen, it’s a hairpiece, n—a.”
The questions kept coming as Dave compared ordering the unit to buying a fitted cap, and Capo wondered whether it arrived as a larger piece that needed trimming and customization.
Maino explained that the process involved professional assistance. “You gotta see a doctor, bro. Get your piece first,” he explained. “My s–t is installed.”
Jim then jokingly offered to help him with a future fitting.
After the clip went viral, rap fans were also surprised that Maino’s hair isn’t natural but praised the finish, as nobody would ever have known had he not made the news public.
