Rapper Kodak Black Ordered Into Drug Rehab

Lyndon Abioye |

Rapper Kodak Black has been ordered into drug rehab for 30 days after allegedly testing positive for fentanyl while awaiting trial on a drug trafficking charge.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after he had missed a court-ordered drug test on Feb. 3 and then tested positive on Feb. 8. The rapper is still awaiting trial for a July arrest on a charge of trafficking oxycodone.

In court, his attorney claimed a star-struck drug lab technician may have mixed up the sample or paperwork and the tech agreed this could have been the case. The judge then recommended Kodak have his hair tested for drugs, but the defense declined. Hair can detect drug samples from up to 90 days prior. The judge still ordered Yak to rehab as he may have been suspicious of the defense’s decision to not undergo hair testing.

Yak is allowed to remain free until March 7th, so he can perform at the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles.
