Rapper DDG reveals that he’s quitting Youtube to focus all of his attention on his rap career.
“I don’t really care about the money. That’s kinda why I’ve been doing music without even making a lot of money doing music, it’s because I didn’t care about the money. I’m very passionate about it,” the rapper says in the video titled “My Last YouTube Video… I deleted everything”
“I was doing YouTube to eat. I was doing YouTube to pay my bills, to make money,” he further elaborated. “If you told me right now, ‘You won’t make a dollar off rapping,’ I would still do it.”
Earlier this month, the Michigan native responded to all the critics who called him a “failed rapper” after releasing his new track “Famous.”
“They’re calling me a failed rapper right now yea, so it’s starting back up,” DDG said. “I want y’all to know, listen, ‘Famous’ is just a song okay? It’s just music y’all. Just how movies is just movies, songs is just songs.”
He continued, “Y’all gotta relax and worry about y’all own stuff, and its all entertainment. It’s the entertainment business. Relax, calm down, chill out you know it is what it is, I’m used to getting hated on.”
