Chingy revealed that he has dropped out of his upcoming performance in Nashville, Tennessee, at Red White & Rock.
The event was to support LGBT+ conservatives but the rapper says he is not a Donald Trump supporters so he will not be taking to the stage.
“YOU KNO WHAT JUS CAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS MESS. I HAVE DECLINED PERFORMING AND NO IM MOT A TRUMP SUPPORTER NOR SUPPORTER OF ANYONE ELSE BUT CHINGY. THURR YOU HAVE IT,” he wrote under Baller Alert’s post.
He also reminded fans that it is his job to perform and to care about politics.
Chingy faced backlash from fans when he publicly endorsed Trump before quickly backtracking.
“He had to say about some of the races out here and about the hip-hop community. I didn’t know a lot of the negative things. I was kind of commenting off reading that article and reading some of the good things that he said, so that’s kind of where my comments came from,” he wrote at the time.
