BlocBoy JB was arrested early Tuesday morning after falling asleep in his SUV, allegedly with his foot on the brake and a weapon on his lap, despite having his driver’s license revoked due to a DUI.
The rapper, real name James Lee Baker, is now facing several charges, including possession of marijuana and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon.
The state trooper reports that when he first came across the rapper, he was in possession of a loaded Glock and a pack of marijuana.
The “Smoke” rapper is also facing charges of driving with a revoked license and obstruction of a highway.
He was released from jail on a $7,500 bond.
BlocBoy JB is an American rapper. He is best known for his 2018 single “Look Alive” (featuring Drake), which peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Its follow-up, “Rover” (remixed featuring 21 Savage), entered the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, and both preceded the release of his seventh mixtape, Simi (2018). He signed with Interscope Records in August of that year. His debut studio album, FatBoy (2020), was released two years later and failed to chart.
