As Media Take Out reported, 21 has been married to his longtime sweetheart Keyanna Joseph. The couple share two children together, and have been together for nearly a decade.
Being married to Keyanna has other benefits. And a divorce could have dire consequences to the rapper’s immigration status, Media Take Out has learned.
The rapper, who has had a ton of brush ups with the law, is an undocumented immigrant. His marriage to Keyanna served to help fix the status, as the rapper was using his marriage to a US Citizen to get his green card.
In 2019 the British born-artist was arrested by ICE for overstaying his visa. He’s still fighting drug and weapons possession charges stemming from his earlier arrest. He was released on bond, and is currently working to fix his immigration status.
Savage (real name: She’yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) was taken into custody by ICE during Grammy Week in February of 2019, which amplified awareness of his immigration status. After considerable uproar over the questionable circumstances of his arrest — ICE claimed he had been convicted of felony drug charges in 2014; his attorneys clarified that the conviction was later vacated — the aggravated felony charge against him was dropped
