Professional wrestler Stuart Smith, known to fans as “Syko Stu,” has regained consciousness after fighting for his life after a terrifying attack from an MMA fighter left him in critical condition.
Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was captured on camera stepping in the ring during Smith’s KnokX Pro Wrestling match and brutally attacking him.
Witnesses say Jackson body-slammed Smith to the mat before repeatedly striking him in the head, even as the wrestler lay motionless. The shocking moment was streamed live on Kick, where viewers also saw other wrestlers rush in to restrain Jackson and protect Smith from further harm.
Jackson’s assault is now being investigated by the LAPD.
Smith’s brother, Andrew Smith, shared an emotional update on Facebook Sunday.
“Thank you everyone for your prayers, concerns, and kind words for my brother Stu. Please continue to keep him in your prayers,” he wrote alongside two photos. “He’s currently stable but in critical care. At this time we’re focused on his recovery and appreciate all the support. Also we currently do not have a GoFundMe set up, any links posted are not affiliated with us.”
Fellow wrestler Douglas Malo, who was among those who stepped in, told USA Today that Smith suffered “a lot of teeth” being knocked out and multiple broken bones in his face. Malo added that Smith was awake and talking after the incident.

Jackson claimed that promoters had instructed his son to hit Smith, but KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy denied this, issuing a strong statement condemning the violence.
“First and foremost our thoughts and prayers are with our brother Mr. Stuart Smith (Syko Stu) as he remains a priority and we are monitoring his well being,” the organization said. “What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith. This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred. In the 17 years of operation of KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy, there has never been anything as heinous take place such as this and we apologize to our patrons and fans.”
Raja Jackson & his actions are the epitome of fragile masculinity and how young Men are being taught to act with aggression above all else. Violence is not what makes a man, and every grown man who teaches their Son that it is, are shameful pic.twitter.com/mdpf3dYgDl

The incident came after a staged moment where Smith smashed a beer can over Jackson’s head. Jackson was reportedly seen storming away from the venue, blood staining his shirt, reading live comments from his livestream chat and speaking on the phone with a promoter.
