A Chicago judge has sentenced R. Kelly to 20 years in prison for several charges, including several child pornography charges. Kelly was sentenced in New York to 30 years. His 20 years will run concurrently with his existing sentence meaning the disgraced singer will only have one year gets added to the end of his 30-year sentence.
Kelly was found guilty in September 2022 on three counts of child pornography and three counts of child enticement.
Prosecutors had requested Kelly be given a 25-year sentence to be served once his other 30-year prison sentence has been served.
“Robert Kelly is a serial sexual predator who, over the course of many years, specifically targeted young girls and went to great lengths to conceal his abuse of Jane and other minor victims,” prosecutors said at the time. “To this day, and even following the jury verdict against him, Kelly refuses to accept responsibility for his crimes.”
