Gunna was denied bond for a second time this week…and prosecutors claim that a nurse tried to smuggle illegal drugs into the jail for him.
Prosecutors allege a nurse attempted to sneak in a bag full of marijuana and cocaine on May 14. She reportedly dropped the bag and fled when a deputy approached her.
Gunna’s attorneys deny that the drugs were meant for him.
“All they’re looking for is their son to get a fair shake, and they don’t think that’s happening so far,” attorney Steve Sadow. “None of the allegations made today, these so-called new allegations, are accurate,” he continued to Channel 2′s Michael Seiden.
Gunna is one of 28 defendants charged in a RICO indictment that also accuses fellow rapper Young Thug of being the leaders of Young Slime Life, or YSL.
“He is a member of the Shady Park Crips out of south Fulton,” prosecutors said in court. “He is under an investigation at this point in time by more than one law enforcement agency concerning at least two homicides committed by that gang during this time.”
Both rappers deny the charges.
