Prosecutors are not buying Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger’s recent trip to rehab is genuine…and reveal that the Grande Dame has had a total of four DUI arrests.
Karen checked into rehab after she was convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) and other charges in December 2024.
She is due to be sentenced at the Montgomery County Circuit Court on February 26.
“The fact that Ms. Huger has repeatedly been given the benefit of another chance on three separate occasions demonstrates that she has not learned anything from her prior arrests,” Montgomery County prosecutor Jordan Kramer wrote in a recent court filing. “In fact, it appears as if she has been emboldened.”
Prosecutors want Karen to do jail time this time around, even questioning her rehab experience.
“The State is concerned that the program that Ms. Huger did choose to enroll in equates itself to a luxury resort experience,” Kramer added.
Her attorneys are arguing for a lighter sentence.
“She was shocked with embarrassment,” David Martella wrote in a recent filing. “She could not turn off the testimony or the body cameras. She could not get up and walk out of the room. … The trial was a wake-up call.”
During the reunion, Bravo shared a video message from Karen to the Housewives, where she claims she has learned from the arrest and promised to do better.
