Reports have been circulating online that Cipha Sounds was threatened by OVO producer Noah “40” Shebib after Cipha played Kendrick Lamar‘s Drake diss “Not Like Us” during a gig in Toronto.

On an episode of his Juan Ep Is Life podcast with Peter Rosenberg he read out a message sent to him from the producer.

“How about I go to your city and play a song where someone calls you a pedophile? I knew you never liked us. You act nice, but you really a bitch. It’s on sight. When I see you, I’m gonna smack you in the mouth,” he read.

In an Instagram post, Cipha denied playing the song at a show and says that he was not threatened by 40, calling Toronto a “second home.”

“People that know me know I’m not no f*ck face idiot that would go to Toronto and play ‘Not Like Us.’ That is a stupid thing to do,” he said.

“I hate all this beef sh*t. I hate controversy, I hate smoke, I hate drama. I hate that those two are beefing with each other. It’s nasty for the culture, it’s negative and it’s detrimental.”
