Popular 2000s hit rapper Cash Out was recently indicted on charges of rape, sex trafficking and running a prostitution ring out of an Atlanta home and hotel rooms.
The rapper, born John-Michael Hakim Gibson, was arrested and checked into the Fulton County Jail. Currently he’s sitting in jail with no bond.
According to the Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, Cash Out allegedly used his celebrity status to lure women off Instagram and into a life of prostitution.
“The most troubling aspect of this case is that women have been victimized and brutalized within our community by people who had a chance to do something else with their lives,” Willis said in a statement to the media.
Here’s Cash Out’s most popular hit song:
“He’s a very talented musical performer. Unfortunately, he didn’t stay in that business, and he branched off to the business that finds him under indictment,” Willis added.
And the nature of Cash Out’s trafficking was very violent.
“He’s accused … of whipping a young lady who’s a sex worker, and this was one of the girls that he had recruited,” Fulton County deputy district attorney Earnell Winfrey told Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne.
“We’ve rescued two so far. Some of these women are our most vulnerable women and he lured them in, let them believe that he cared about them and that he would take care of them, only to flip the script and then began to pimp them out,” Winfrey said.
“He’s facing a 25-to-life crime,” Winfrey said..
