Pooh Shiesty’s Former Lawyer Slams Leaked Video as Trial Looms!

Pooh Shiesty’s case involving Gucci Mane now has a trial date, but after a video leaked online showing the alleged confrontation, Shiesty’s attorney is speaking out.

The rapper, born Lontrell Williams Jr., is set to stand trial on Feb. 22, 2027, after being accused by federal prosecutors of kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane during an alleged January confrontation at a Dallas recording studio. The alleged incident stemmed from a dispute over Shiesty’s contract with Gucci’s 1017 Records label. Pooh Shiesty has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors introduced video evidence, followed by a clip that spread across social media on Wednesday.

Prosecutors say the footage shows Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis, verbally releasing Pooh Shiesty from his deal while an armed man is nearby. At one moment, the rapper says, “I signed the paper it’s done.”

Bradford Cohen, Shiesty’s former attorney, is not treating the clip as a knockout blow, even though he withdrew from the case in April. He called the leaked footage “nasty work” and has challenged the strength of the federal kidnapping claim.

“I think it’s pretty nasty work that [there are] leaks coming from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Texas on evidence that they feel will benefit their case,” said Cohen. “Of course, they’re not leaking evidence that will not benefit their case.”

He has also questioned the government’s theory of federal jurisdiction, including its reliance on the “Commerce Clause.”

Prosecutors say they have more than one clip and in court papers, they described the case against Shiesty as “extraordinarily strong,” citing surveillance footage, cooperating witnesses and cellphone data.
