Pooh Shiesty’s Father Says He Only “Stood By” During Gucci Mane Incident

Pooh Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., is continuing his effort to be released from jail after a federal judge temporarily paused an earlier order granting him bond.

According to court documents, Williams recently filed a brief arguing that prosecutors have not shown why he should remain in custody while the case moves forward and in the filing, argued the government cannot provide “clear and convincing evidence” that he poses a threat to the public.

Williams also referenced a prior decision from Judge Christoff, who had approved his release despite his criminal record after considering the “history and characteristics of the person.” The new filing argues that prosecutors must prove Williams presents a real danger to the community and says Judge Christoff’s earlier ruling undercuts that argument.

Williams is accused in connection with an incident at a Dallas recording studio in which Gucci Mane was allegedly robbed and forced to sign documents releasing Pooh Shiesty from his contract with 1017 Records. He has denied prosecutors’ claims that he was inside the studio and directed others to force Gucci Mane to sign the paperwork.

“But as Judge Christoff observed, even in a light most favorable to the government, this evidence only shows that Mr. Williams, at most, ‘stood by and let it happen,’” the filing states.

A judge has not yet ruled on the latest request.
