PnB Rock’s Alleged Teenage Shooter Found Not Competent To Stand Trial

A teenager who has been charged in the murder of rapper PnB Rock has not yet been found competent to stand trial.

Sharonda P. Bradford, the California Superior Court Commissioner, told Rolling Stone that the teen had received “a range of services” during his detainment but that an expert argued that he wasn’t fit to stand trial.

“The recommendation is that the previous orders remain,” the expert wrote. “The proceedings remain suspended, remediation continues.”

Earlier this month, the trial for Freddie Trone and Tremont Jones began. Florida’s claim that Jones was the one who informed Trone that PnB Rock would be dining at Roscoe’s Chicken ‘N Waffles in South Los Angeles that day.

Trone and his teenage son allegedly pulled up at the restaurant before robbing and shooting the late rapper. It was reportedly Trone’s son who pulled the trigger.

In opening statements, Trone’s attorney blamed the killing on his son.

“You will hear no evidence that he planned this with his son. That he instructed his son to do this, or he egged him on. They will have evidence that my client did help his son cover this up. We’re not disputing that. What we’re saying is the gunman acted alone”.
