Perez Hilton’s mother and sister are reportedly preparing to seek custody of his three children as the celebrity blogger remains hospitalized following a public suicide attempt.
“His mom has been the steady presence in those kids’ lives for years,” a source told Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack. “She and his sister have practically raised them. Right now, everyone agrees the children need stability above all else.”
Hilton, 48, is father to Mario III, 13, Mia Alma, 11, and Mayte, 8.
His family said in an August 6 statement that the children were inside his home shortly before the August 4 incident but were taken away once relatives realized he was in crisis.
“Our highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced,” the statement read. The family added that they want the children to eventually “return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy.”

Another source told Shuter that Hilton’s relatives believe he needs to focus on his recovery before resuming full responsibility for the children.
“This isn’t about punishing Perez,” the source said. “Everyone wants him to recover. But until he’s healthy and stable, the children need to be with the people who can look after them.”
Hilton was hospitalized after a disturbing TikTok Live in which he appeared to harm himself. First responders transported him for treatment, and he remained hospitalized nearly a week later.
