Paul Pierce is weighing in on the recent breakup between Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion, and believes that Thompson’s feelings for the rapper were not that deep.
The split became public after Megan addressed it on Instagram, accusing Thompson of not wanting to be monogamous.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” she said. “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Speaking on “The Truth After Dark,” Pierce reacted to how the breakup unfolded publicly.
“We put our relationships in the public eye, and then we put our breakups in the public eye,” he said. “You don’t have to put everything on social media because it just opens up the door for nasty splits.”
Pierce also shared his views on the relationship, adding, “It looks to me like Megan Thee Stallion was just some work for him to get through the season. I’m not validating his cheating.”
Co-host Azar Farideh challenged that view during the discussion.
“Men have to stop making a woman fall in love with them and doing all the things with no real expectation to love that woman,” she said.
Thompson has not publicly addressed the breakup.
