Reality television star Paris Hilton says she once believed she was asexual before she met her husband because she was too scared to do anything sexual.
Paris said she thought she might have been asexual because she “only liked to make out,” rather than have sex. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, she said that even with her “sex symbol” label and being romantically linked with several A-List celebrities, “anything sexual terrified me.”
“I called myself the ‘kissing bandit’ because I only liked to make out. A lot of my relationships didn’t work out because of that,” she said.
Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to others, or low or absent interest in or desire for sexual activity.
Paris said things changed when she met her now-husband Carter Reum.
“It wasn’t until Carter that I finally am not that way. I enjoy hooking up with my husband…. He’s not famous. He’s smart. He comes from a nice family. He’s a good person. It was the opposite of what I had been used to when I was looking for guys,” she said.
“I just feel like after all the hell I’ve been through, I’m finally getting what I deserve, which is someone I can trust and someone to build a real life with.”
