OTF Jam testified that Lil Durk was tied to an alleged plot to kill Quando Rondo, telling jurors he heard the rapper’s voice during a FaceTime call as the plan was being discussed.
Kacey Hester, who goes by OTF Jam, took the stand Wednesday and talked about his longtime relationship with Durk, including support he says the rapper gave him during 12 years in prison.
Hester said Durk called him regularly, contributed $1,000 toward his attorney and sometimes placed as much as $1,000 on his prison books.
Durk “never did that,” Hester said when detailing how the rapper did not forget about him while he was incarcerated.

Hester testified that things changed after his release. In August 2022, he said he received a last-minute call telling him, “we need you,” before traveling to San Diego.
While waiting at a Hooters, Hester said he joined a FaceTime conversation and was told about an alleged plan to kill Rondo. He testified that he heard Durk say, “I’m here,” through a separate phone.
Hester told jurors he did not want to participate but believed refusing could put his own life at risk.
“It ain’t something I wanted to do,” he said.
He later testified that the group bought black hoodies and gloves and obtained three guns before abandoning the alleged plan that night because police activity made the area “too hot.”
