Offset’s alleged $100,000 casino debt could become twice as expensive after the rapper failed to answer a lawsuit brought against him by a Detroit gambling establishment.
A Michigan judge has directed MotorCity Casino Hotel to seek a default judgment after Offset missed the deadline to respond to accusations that he never repaid money borrowed for gambling.
Back in March 2024, Offset allegedly opened a six-figure credit line at the casino. According to the lawsuit, the rapper signed a casino marker authorizing the establishment to withdraw money from his checking account. But when the casino attempted to collect, the payment allegedly bounced because the account lacked sufficient funds.
MotorCity is suing under Michigan’s bad check statute, potentially allowing it to recover $200,000 plus attorney fees.

Offset’s team previously appeared hopeful about settling the dispute.
“We are working toward a resolution,” a representative told TMZ in April.
The rapper has still not formally answered the lawsuit and the court has not issued a final judgment, meaning Offset still has an opportunity to challenge the default if he establishes a valid reason for missing the deadline and presents a credible defense.
The Atlanta rapper was shot outside a Florida casino in April and hospitalized with a leg injury before being released days later. This month he made headlines following a disagreement with staff at a Paris blackjack table.
The Detroit court is scheduled to consider the casino’s request on Oct. 23.
