Nikki Garcia has filed for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev following his recent domestic violence arrest.
Nikki reportedly filed the paperwork in Napa Valley, California, this Wednesday, more than two years after she tied the know with her former Dancing With The Stars partner.
“Nikki Garcia has filed for divorce. She continues to ask for privacy for her and her family at this time,” a rep for the wrestler and reality star told PEOPLE.
Chigvintsev was arrested on charges of domestic violence just days before his second anniversary with the WWE star.
On August 29, he was charged with corporal injury to spouse, and he was given a $25,000 bail. In her filing, Nikki states the same date as the date of their separation.
It was quickly revealed that it was Artem who initially called 911.
“Initially came in as requesting medical, but now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at rp [reporting party],” the dispatcher said on the call, adding that “there is a child on scene.”
Officers arrived on the scene where they found that an individual had suffered visible injuries but would not confirm whether it was Nikki or Artem.
