Nicki Minaj dropped her long-awaited “Pink Friday 2” album – and it’s burning up the internet. One track in particular is making waves, where Media Take Out learned that Nicki appears to be taking shots at Meg Thee Stallion.
Meg and Nicki have been rivals for a few years now. The rift started when Nicki helped launch Meg’s career, by joining her song Hot Girl Summer, and the song (coupled with Nicki’s celebrity) catapulted Meg Thee Stallion into stardom.
After that track, however, Meg then went behind Nicki’s back – and recorded a bunch of songs with Nicki’s rival Cardi B. That soured their relationship.
Now Nicki’s finally firing at Meg on music.
In the song “FTCU,” Nicki throws a few subliminal with the lyrics, “Stay in your Tory lane, bitch, I’m not Iggy,” … a line that’s got fans wondering if she’s taking shots at Megan Thee Stallion.
Nicki and Meg have been at odds for years and of course, Meg and Tory Lanez have issues, after Tory was convicted of shooting the “Savage” rapper in the foot.
Ahead of his sentencing, Tory and Iggy Azalea were collaborating on music and began dating. Iggy even wrote a letter to the judge on behalf of Tory.
Nicki’s track stands for “F*** the Club Up” — the same message Cardi B’s friends Latto and GloRilla spread on their track of the same name last year … but it’s clear Nicki wants the title for herself.
Fans also note Nicki wasn’t just shooting shots at Meg, Latto caught a few strays too. On the track “Fallin’ For You”, Nicki rapped “Picture not listenin’ when I said you would dread that/I mean locs, ho, you’s a chop ho/ I’m number one, y’all go argue over top four …”
