NFL free agent Duane Brown was arrested on Saturday after allegedly having a firearm in his luggage and trying to get it through a TSA security checkpoint at LAX.
TMZ reports that the gun was not loaded. Brown was arrested by Airport for possession of a concealed firearm and held on $10,000 bail.
According to ESPN, Brown started all 17 games for the Seattle Seahawks last season but he became a free agent this offseason. The Seahawks did not want to commit to Brown beyond the 2021 season but did add a void year in 2022 that offered him $2 million in protection if he were to suffer a career-ending injury. He received no extra money.
He played his first 10 seasons in the NFL for the Houston Texans after he was drafted in the first round of the 2008 draft.
Brown has not released a statement about his arrest and has not posted on Instagram in 3 weeks.
