NFL Star Xavier Worthy Sues Woman Who Accused Him of Domestic Violence

Tiffany Brockworth |

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy is suing the woman who accused him of domestic violence earlier this month following his Texas arrest.

Worthy was arrested on Friday, March 7, and charged with assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation. After reports of the arrest circulated online, Worthy’s attorney claimed that the athlete’s girlfriend made up the allegations after she was allegedly caught cheating.

Worthy claims that his ex-fiancée, Tia Jones, fabricated the allegations of domestic violence against him so she could “extort a home, money, cars, and other valuables” from him.

Worthy also claims that Jones refused to leave their home in Williamson County after he repeatedly asked her to do so due to her infidelity. He says he even offered to get her an apartment so she could “get back on her feet,” but she refused.”

Jones allegedly destroyed his game room and stole or damaged over $250,000 of his property.

He is suing Jones for $250,000 in damages.
