According to official jail records from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Melodi Shari Rodgers turned herself in on Tuesday morning, September 22:
- The Specific Charge: Melodi was booked on one misdemeanor count of Domestic Violence, Third-Degree (Harassment). Under Alabama law, third-degree domestic violence harassment does not require physical assault, but applies to harassing communications or dispute conduct between former spouses.
- Ninety Minutes In Custody: Melodi was processed and released on bond after spending roughly 90 minutes in custody.

The arrest warrant stems directly from allegations made by her ex-husband and former Love & Marriage: Huntsville co-star, Martell Holt.
Fans will recall that Melodi and Martell endured an extremely public, bitter divorce after six seasons on television, involving a lengthy three-year custody battle over their four children. Last year, Martell himself pleaded guilty to domestic violence harassing communications charges against Melodi.
Following her release, Melodi released an explosive statement strongly denying the allegations, calling the charges completely fabricated and weaponized by her ex:
“I have endured years of harassment that has affected my family, children, and livelihood. While this is traumatizing, I know that it is far bigger than me. This is a national issue because it’s far too easy to get warrants on innocent people.”
Melodi revealed she is working alongside Alabama State Senator Merika Coleman on proposed legislation called “The Melody Shari Act,” which aims to turn filing false police reports that lead to innocent arrests into a felony!
