A lawsuit against Netflix was filed against their live-streaming of Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson on Friday.
The event was the most-streamed sporting event ever, with 108 million total viewers and 65 million live streams, but viewers complained about the event crashing and other glitches.
Ronald “Blue” Denton accuses Netflix of “breach of contract” for continued glitches during the event.
Netflix issued a statement following the lawsuit.
“This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers,” said Netflix executive Elizabeth Stone. “I’m sure many of you have seen the chatter in the press and on social media about the quality issues. We don’t want to dismiss the poor experience of some members and know we have room for improvement but still consider this event a huge success.”
The pair went eight rounds during the fight, with Paul being crowned as the winner.
