Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes threw some shade at Kenya Moore via her Instagram Story but shared a clip of Kenya’s take on Nene’s exit from the show.
“That clearly means that the network is sending you a message. You’re not as important as you think you are. The message is very clear. Either the network feels that you’re still a valuable asset on the show, or they don’t. And you’re replaced or phased out, and you just have to move on,” Kenya says in the resurfaced clip.
Nene added, “The message is very clear…[side eyes emoji].”
Nene walked away from the show at the end of the 12th season after contract negotiations failed. She also claimed she had been treated unfairly, accusing Andy Cohen and the Bravo network of racism.
“I have made the hard and very difficult decision to not be a part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13. It wasn’t an easy decision for me,” she said at the time.
Nene went on to say, “I have been on an extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation. There has been a lot of emotion flying on both sides. I’m just so happy that I can say that I was a part of a genre that opened doors for Black ensemble reality shows.”
Kenya was removed from the show after she displayed graphic images of cast member Brittany Eady at the launch of her hair spa. The move was in retaliation against Brit, who threatened her with a weapon on camera.
