Nelly and Ashanti have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Kareem Kenkaide Hayes.
They welcomed their son on July 18. Media Take Out was first to report that the couple had welcomed a baby, and we got the dat right and everything!!
Singer Ashanti shared the good news on social media.
“Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time.. lol,” she said aslongside a picture of her in Frida Mom postpartum underwear. “I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings!”
Ashanti added that “this is what postpartum looks like,” and that she’s “so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.”
In June, Ashanti went viral when she revealed how Nelly proposed to her. The rapper proposed to her while they were both in bed.
“It was just such a beautiful, intimate moment,” she told ET, adding that it happened as they were watching TV in bed and she was wearing his T-shirt and boxers. “We were not dressy.”
“I cried. I gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever,” she added. “I FaceTimed everyone I know… I was overjoyed and shocked and surprised and happy kind of like all in one.”
