NBA Suspends Miles Bridges 30 Games Over Domestic Violence & Child Abuse Charges

Lyndon Abioye |

Former Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has been suspended for 30 games without pay due to a domestic violence incident involving the mother of his children.

Bridges was arrested on domestic violence charges on the eve of free agency. His wife, Mychelle Johnson, posted shocking pictures on social media of the injuries received during the attack. He allegedly fractured her nose, and choked her until she lost consciousness.

“I hate that it has come to this but I can’t be silent anymore,” wrote Johnson. “I’ve allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life.”

“It hurts, everything hurts, this situation hurts, most importantly I’m scared and hurting for my kids who were witness to everything. Please respect my families privacy and stop with the disgusting rumors and allegations.”

In June, Bridges pleaded no contest to one felony charge as part of a deal with prosecutors. Two other felony counts were later dismissed.
