Mystikal Wants Gag Order In R*pe Case

Lyndon Abioye |

Rapper Mystikal is asking a judge to put a gag order on his rape and false imprisonment case in Ascension Parish.

Mystikal reportedly fired his defense attorneys who successfully represented him against an earlier rape charge in north Louisiana. The gag order would stop attorneys on either side from speaking on the latest case to “any individual or entity,” including radio, television or newspaper reporters and “all potential witnesses and law enforcement officials who either will or might testify at the trial of this case or who have information” on it.

Mystikal is asking for the gag order due to an “inordinate amount of publicity.” He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Mystikal is accused of raping, strangling and robbing a woman at his home in Prairieville, Louisiana in July after she allegedly stole some money from him.

The rapper was charged with illegal possession of Xanax, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, simple criminal damage to property and simple robbery.
