Singer-songwriter Muni Long has apologized to crooner Lyfe Jennings for making a joke he found offensive.
“Maturing is realizing Lyfe Jennings was really a hatin’ a– [n—a]… ‘Must Be Nice’ is crazy,” she wrote in a post on Threads.
Jennings was taken aback by the post, but chose to respond with more grace than Muni Long had shown him.
“Maturing is realizing that looking [through] a filter of trauma will have you seeing grey skies where there are only blue,” he replied in the comment section of a Shade Room post. “I’m still a fan, Miss Long. Be blessed.”
It seems his thoughtful words, and backlash from the fans, sparked a change of heart in Long, who hopped back online to issue an apology.

“Ya’ll got Lyfe mad at me, [for real]. Man, I was just playing,” she wrote, noting that she had not even listened to the entire song because she never liked it and she was a kid at the time.
He clapped back again, calling her out for doubling down on her initial statements, forcing her to deliver a genuine apology this time.
“Hey man, if I hurt your feelings, that’s valid. I can take that and apologize. Definitely meant it as a joke and no disrespect. This is getting blown WAY out of proportion, which is what I said to you in my direct message. I can’t tell you how to feel at all, again, no disrespect. I apologize. I’m done with it now I’ve addressed you directly and publicly. Have a nice day,” she wrote.
