MO3’s former girlfriend told jurors she immediately suspected the father of her children was involved in the Dallas rapper’s killing, sending him angry messages just after learning MO3 was dead.
Jocylynn Jackson returned to the witness stand Thursday in the murder trial of Kewon White, who prosecutors accuse of being the gunman who fatally shot MO3, whose real name was Melvin Noble, in November 2020. White has pleaded not guilty.
Jackson testified that her son told her his father, Devin “Chicago” Brown, had asked whether MO3 was at her home before the shooting.
“My son told me that his dad asked if Melvin was at [my house],” Jackson told the jury.
Jackson said that information contributed to her decision to contact authorities.
“I went to the police because I feel like my kid’s father had something to do with it,” she testified, later saying, “My intuition told me” Brown was involved.
Jurors also saw messages Jackson sent Brown after MO3’s death. In one, she accused him directly, writing, “On my kids, you did.”
Brown denied responsibility in messages shown during cross-examination.
White is the first of three defendants awaiting trial in the case. Prosecutors allege Brown helped coordinate the shooting and that rapper Yella Beezy orchestrated the killing. All three men have pleaded not guilty.
