MJ Fans Furious After Sexyy Red’s Viral “Just Eat It” Clip

Michael Jackson’s estate is making its position clear after a viral clip of Sexyy Red’s explicit remix of “Beat It” set social media on fire.

The St. Louis rapper’s track, dubbed “Just Eat It,” began circulating this week after Lil Yachty shared studio footage of Sexyy Red performing the raunchy flip. Fans quickly reacted, especially after Yachty joked that the song belonged on the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic soundtrack.

In a statement to Billboard, the estate for Michael Jackson shut down the speculation.

“We were totally unaware of this,” a spokesperson said. “The use of the music is unauthorized.” As a result, the song is not expected to receive any official clearance or release.

Sexyy Red appeared to lean into the controversy, later posting her own clip of the track on Instagram and referring to it as a “hoochie tribute.” The move drew swift backlash from longtime fans of the late singer, as well as fellow artists.

Rap veteran Monie Love criticized the remix online, calling it “beyond disrespectful” and condemning anyone involved in allowing the song to circulate.

Despite the uproar, Sexyy Red has previously expressed admiration for Jackson and even featured an MJ impersonator during a hometown show last year.
