Nicki Minaj’s younger sister, Ming Li, revealed that the two are currently estranged, but she is not interested in turning their family dispute into a public takedown.
While speaking with Adam22 on the No Jumper podcast, Li said Minaj reportedly became upset after she began participating in interviews and answering questions about the Grammy-nominated rapper.
“She probably got mad because she didn’t want me to basically talk about her and stuff like that, which I do 100% respect,” Li said.

Li explained that being related to one of the world’s most recognizable artists makes certain questions nearly impossible to escape and that her art often gets overshadowed by the fact that she’s related to Minaj.
When Adam22 described Minaj’s response as sensitive, Li quickly stood up for her sister.
“We don’t know what the f–k that woman been through,” Li said. “She’s been through so much since a young age.”
Li acknowledged that Minaj may sometimes need to “chill the f–k out,” but said her sister’s defenses were built through years of navigating difficult environments.
