Mike Epps publicly apologized to Nicki Minaj after a joke he made during a recent stand up show sparked backlash online.
The comedian shared an apology video on his Instagram Story, opening with a candid acknowledgment of his mistake.
“Y’all know I’m Mr. Accountability,” Epps said. “I say stuff, I do stuff, then I wake up and think about it.” Addressing Minaj directly, he continued, “I just want to apologize to you, Nicki Minaj, for saying the stuff that I said. I want to apologize to your husband, your kids, and everybody involved.”

Epps explained that his comments crossed a line and were not meant to be taken as a personal attack.
“Sometimes I get on stage, I’ve had a few drinks, and I go wild,” he said. “I’m not filtered. That’s not an excuse, but I am owning it.”
The apology followed a clip that circulated on social media from Epps’ We Them Ones Comedy Tour, where he made a crude remark involving Minaj and Donald Trump, accusing the president of running a train on the rapper. The joke drew swift criticism, especially given Minaj’s recent public support of Trump.
