Miguel is putting his family first after saying online harassment has escalated into racism, stalking and threats.

In a recent statement, the Grammy winner said the abuse has spread beyond him and reached his partner, Margaret Zhang, and their young child.

“Over the past year, my family and the people i love have been subjected to racism, harassment, stalking, invasions of privacy, and false allegations,” Miguel wrote.

He said Zhang, who is pregnant with their second child, has also received racist and anti-Asian attacks through comments and direct messages.

“It doesn’t become acceptable because someone dresses it up as criticism, fandom, speculation, or ‘concern,’” the award-winning singer wrote.

“If you participate in this behavior, you are not supporting me. you are not part of this community,” he went on, adding that legal action has already been taken in situations where boundaries were crossed and said more could follow.

Miguel and Zhang welcomed their son, Angel, in 2024 and are now expecting another child.

After receiving supportive messages from followers, Miguel returned to the comments with a brief thank-you: “Overwhelmed reading your comments of support loved ones, thank you.”
