Method Man has reacted to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ shock arrest and says that the disgraced Bad Boy boss’ arrest has nothing to do with hip-hop.
TMZ approached the rapper and asked him how Diddy’s arrest would hurt hip-hop.
“How? I don’t think that it has anything to do with hip-hop as far as the culture,” he told the outlet. “What are we talking about here? [It] has nothing to do with hip-hop at all. I don’t see the correlation whatsoever.”
Diddy Combs was arrested in New York City last week and was charged with racketeering and sex-trafficking charges. He pleaded not guilty and requested bail twice and was denied both times after a federal judge ruled that he was as a flight risk and may strong-arm potential witnesses if released.
The Wu-Tang Clan rapper went on to say that even though R. Kelly was convicted and is serving a sentence, his fans still listen to his music.
“We’re talking about creative and music and stuff like that,” he added. “There’s people still listening to R. Kelly’s sh-t. I don’t know, I can’t answer that. But I don’t think it has anything to do with hip-hop.”
