Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about the aftermath of the 2020 shooting and admits that she had a breakdown.
“I think I really forgot who I was, and when life started really getting crazy, I didn’t have her,” she said of her late mother. “That’s when I started getting the backlash. The shooting. The betrayal. I was definitely getting a little too engulfed in social media…I had really had, like, a real breakdown,” she says in the trailer for her new documentary, In Her Words.

Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Los Angeles County Superior Court for the assault. He maintains his innocence.
She continued: “I want people to understand how this affected me. I want people to see how I feel. I been through so much I can’t give up.”
The Nneka Onuorah-directed documentary is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and co-produced by TIME Studios and Roc Nation.
