Megan Thee Stallion says she “was losing” herself in her relationship with Klay Thompson before the pair called it quits.
Five months after confirming their breakup, the 31-year-old rapper opened up about why the romance ultimately did not work and what she refuses to sacrifice in her next relationship.
“I think I just kept trying to make pieces fit that didn’t belong, trying to fit myself into someone else’s life,” Megan told InStyle in an interview published this week. “I was losing myself a little bit. I am now in the space of finding me again.”
Megan said the aftermath of the split was brutal.
“I’m trying my best,” said Meg. “I feel like I’ve been put through the washing machine and the dryer with tins, shovels, and a cactus. It was very rough.”
Now, the Grammy winner says she knows exactly what she expects from anyone who enters her life romantically.
“I cannot be minimized,” she continued. “I will not be behind any man. I will have a partner. I will be equals with my partner.”
The Houston Hottie is not in any rush to start dating again.
“Being by yourself is okay,” Megan added. “Like, I ain’t smiled so much in so long.”
