Meek Mill went hard promoting his Heathens album on social media but even his beef with DJ Akademiks could not rally up enough plays to enter the Billboard top 10.
Akademiks and Meek went at it on X after Ak reported on a lawsuit seemingly naming Meek as one of Diddy’s lovers. Meek denies all allegations.
“Meek Mill ‘Heathenism’ EP sells 6K first week,” Ak wrote.
In a separate tweet, he followed up with, “Shouts out to the blogs I fw who got that check from ole boys team tryna push them fabricated ‘#1 on itunes numbers screenshot’ lol.. Men Lie Women Lie.. But Big AK always gonna come wit ya first week sales.”
Meek’s new album was released independently but Ak says being independent is not an excuse for such an epic flop.
“Rounded up too.. just to make sure I truly wasn’t no hater. FYI,” Ak wrote, adding, “Also b4 a nigga get on here capping.. Congrats to Kanye West for selling another 53K with Vultures 1 this week. He’s been in the top 2 Albums since the album dropped and he’s really INDEPEDENT. Btw Ye sold 300K domestically since the release of Vultures 1. Vultures 2 OTW”
Fans are now circulating this old clip from a Meek Mill interview on The Breakfast Club.
