Meek Mill is calling out sportswear giant Nike after the brand released a LeBron James sneaker collection tied to a phrase closely associated with the rapper.
On Tuesday, the Philadelphia artist reacted on X after Nike dropped the LeBron 23 “Dreams and Nightmares,” a sneaker named after his 2012 album and the opening track that has become one of his signature records.
“So Nike just gone take my whole brand and mash it up with LeBron?” Meek wrote. “What is this … why wouldn’t anyone holler at me about this? I thought the sneaks was fake?”

The sneaker arrived as part of Nike’s LeBron 23 rollout, which includes 23 colorways inspired by different moments from James’ career. Along with the shoes, Nike also released a matching basketball and a graphic T-shirt. Meek also reacted to the shirt, which features artwork reminiscent of the split-face style on his Dream Chasers 3 mixtape cover. On Meek’s cover, his face appears alongside a lion’s. Nike’s graphic shows James with a lion.
“My AI graphics are better btw,” Meek wrote.
“Dreams and Nightmares” has long had a second life in sports. The song became an anthem during the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2018 Super Bowl run, with the team using it for their on-field introduction.

Meek’s label, Dream Chasers, recently filed a trademark application for the wordmark “Dreams and Nightmares.”
Nike’s product page for the LeBron 23 “Dreams and Nightmares” appeared to show errors when clicked through, though direct product links were reportedly still working.’
