Three years ago, Media Take Out reported that popular 1980s rapper MC Lyte filed for divorce after three years of marriage to a Marine veteran, John Wyche, who she met on Match.com.
Lyte surprised her fans first and foremost by marrying a man. As Media Take Out reported, the popular 1980s rapper was the subject of rumors for many years – which suggested that she preferred same s*x relationships. But when she announced her marriage, everyone wished her the best.
Well Media Take Out confirmed that within a year, Lyte filed to divorce John, and the divorce was bitter.
The two have been fighting in court for the past three years, with John refusing to sign off on the divorce.
Last week the court finally ended the marriage – and determined that John would not get a penny.
According two the court, a prenup was in place and upheld. The court determined that the separate property between the couple will remain separate.
Lyte, whose real name is Lana Michele Moorer, gets to keep all her own music, and does not have to pay any alimony.
The court noted that, “MC Lyte keeps her clothing, jewelry, watches, and personal effects in her possession, custody, or control, and earnings and accumulations before the date of marriage, during the marriage, and post-separation, her Subaru, financial accounts in her name, all furniture, furnishings, and other personal property in her possession, custody, or control. She also gets to keep her term life insurance policy.”
The Grammy-nominated rapper met her husband on Match.com. John Wyche claims he had no clue that he was dating someone of notoriety until a friend suggested that he Google her.
