Dr. Heavenly Kimes is looking ahead after her Georgia congressional campaign ended in a second-place finish.

The Married to Medicine star, a cosmetic dentist in Atlanta, conceded following the Democratic primary for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District. Dr. Heavenly was one of six candidates in the race, which Rep. Jasmine Clark won.

Dr. Heavenly shared a video on Instagram after the results online, telling supporters that she had already called Clark.

“This is not over. We’re going to come back,” she said. “I’ve already called Jasmine Clark and congratulated the queen.” She added, “I’m sure she’ll do an amazing job. I’m so proud of her, but I’m also proud of you. We did something different; we made history.”

In the post’s caption, Dr. Heavenly thanked the people who “believed in me, prayed for me, donated, volunteered, canvassed, texted, called voters, put up signs, and stood beside me.” She also praised her husband, Dr. Damon Kimes, for “every sacrifice,” and thanked her children for supporting the campaign.

Kimes entered the race in March after initially announcing a run for Georgia state representative. The congressional seat became vacant when Rep. David Scott died on April 22 at 80 years of age.

Clark, who has served Georgia House District 108 since 2019, received more than half the vote and will face Republican Jonathan James Chavez, who ran unopposed in his primary, on November 3.
