Marilyn Manson’s Defamation Claims Against Evan Rachel Wood Thrown Out By Judge

Lyndon Abioye |

A judge threw out several of Marilyn Manson’s defamation charges against Evan Rachel Wood out of Manson’s claims from his original lawsuit.

“We are very pleased with the Court’s ruling, which affirms and protects Evan’s exercise of her fundamental First Amendment rights,” Michael Kump, attorney for Evan Rachel Wood, said in a statement. “As the Court correctly found, Plaintiff failed to show that his claims against her have even minimal merit.”

Manson claims that Wood forged an FBI letter and that she “recruited” other women, with a checklist and a script, to accuse him of sexual assault and abuse.

Manson plans to appeal.

“The ruling is disappointing but not unexpected,” Manson’s attorney Howard King said. “The Court telegraphed this outcome when it refused to consider the bombshell sworn declaration of former plaintiff Ashley Smithline, which detailed how women were systematically pressured by Evan Rachel Wood and Illma Gore to make false claims about Brian Warner.”

He denies all allegations against him.
