Freddie Trone, a 42-year-old father accused of plotting to kill PnB Rock, was convicted Wednesday in the robbery and shooting death of the Philadelphia rapper at a South Los Angeles restaurant in 2022.

Trone was found guilty of one count each of felony murder and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was also convicted of two counts of second-degree robbery.

Trone’s co-defendant, Tremont Jones, 46, was found guilty of two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Trone’s wife, Shauntel Trone, pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact on July 16, 2024, and will be sentenced in January.

Speaking to the jury, Deputy District Attorney Timothy Richardson said that Trone “sent his son out on a coordinated act to rob watches, rings and chains off of a person.”

Throughout the trial, Trone has claimed that his son murdered PnB Rock on his own, denying he was with his son at the time of the killing.

His 17-year-old son has been deemed incompetent to stand trial.
