Mama Joyce Jones is weighing in, briefly but pointedly, on her daughter Kandi Burruss’ divorce from Todd Tucker.
The longtime Real Housewives of Atlanta matriarch and her Grammy-winning daughter were approached by reporters during a recent outing.
Asked how she felt about the split, Mama Joyce kept her response short and centered on her daughter.
“As long as Kandi’s happy, I’m happy,” she said, offering a calm contrast to the tension that has long defined her relationship with Tucker on camera. Kandi quickly stepped in, gently turning her mother away from further questions, signaling that this was not a conversation she wanted to expand on publicly.
I have never seen Mama Joyce so happy and the way Kandi ran out that door to grab her away from the paparazzi I’m crying #rhoa pic.twitter.com/VsASF0QUeI

The exchange stood out given Mama Joyce’s very vocal opposition to Tucker during earlier seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, where she frequently questioned his intentions and finances. This time, however, her tone appeared calm and supportive rather than combative.
Kandi later addressed the moment herself, confirming that her focus right now is on family and stability. She shared that she spent Valentine’s Day working and then celebrating with relatives, including her mother.
“It was family time,” she said, adding that she’s feeling good as she adjusts to life after the split.
The divorce remains ongoing. Tucker is yet to do an interview about his split from Kandi, but he has taken several inderect shots via social media.
